Blimey O’Reilly, it’s February 2010. This fact probably isn’t as remarkable as the sentence suggested, but never-the-less, we thought it would be helpful to send you a cheeky and hopefully swift* update to let you know when and where we shall be playing over the next few weeks.
These would be as thus**:
Fri 5th Feb – The Spice of Life, Cambridge Circus, Soho, London.
Onstage around 9.30pm and entry is tbc. This is a fundraising event for the wonderful charity Engineers Against Poverty. Also on the bill are our dear chums, Danny Fontaine and The Horns Of Fury and Shabby Rogue.
Fri 12th Feb – The 12 Bar Club, Denmark Street, London.
Onstage around 10.30pm and entry is £6/5 with flyer. Quite simply, our most favourite venue in the world. We are hoping to have our own beds fitted quite soon.
Sat 13th Feb – The Railway, Winchester.
Onstage around 8pm and entry is £7. This is an acoustic show supporting the wonderful Coal Porters.
Sun 14th Feb – Queen Of Clubs Cabaret, Oxford.
Onstage around 8.30pm and entry is £7/6. Valentines Day extravaganza, including dance lessons, dressing up and good old fashioned cabaret. A share of the proceeds go to Partners In Health which helps provide healthcare for the poor in Haiti.
And confirmed for March…
Sat 20th March – The Tunbridge Wells Forum, erm, Tunbridge Wells.
Onstage around 8pm and entry is £7. We shall be opening for New Wave Psycheledic Surf Super-Group and very dear chums of ours, The Flying Padovanis.
For more information about all the above shows i.e. maps, tickets etc… visit our Show Page.
We very much hope to see you at any of the above dates. If you come wearing actual working hover-boots, we’ll be even more pleased than normal.
Big, big love and stupendously large cups in the shape of domestic animals whose noses light up as you pour in a particularly hot and tasty tea of your preference with a toasted crumpet with apricot jam and soya butter on the side.
Keith,
Et al @ The Penny Black Remedy
* As it’s turned out, this update has been neither cheeky, nor particularly swift. This may not come as a surprise to some/most of you, but it’s enough of an act of misinformation to deem it worthy of an apology. So, erm, sorry. It will never happen again. A statement which I wholly expect to make another full and unreserved apology for at some point in the near future. Most likely in the next update.
** I do not, however, make any apologies for this sentence. It appeals to my rather childish desire to sound like a Roman Centurian. This is normal when one is under 5′ 10”.

Saw TPBR at Winchester, supporting the Coal Porters. I had a quick chat at the bar and got some badges in return. My wife thought support was going to be a solo female called Penny Black which might explain why she didn’t get any hits from her pre-show google, so we didn’t know what to expect. Terrific stuff. My wife’s less easily pleased than me (i.e. plays guitar) and said “I’d see this lot again” halfway through the set.
Amazon have delivered the CD. Excellent. A belter. Cheers.
We had a great time at The Railway, Winchester. Glad you enjoyed our show and thanks for buying the album! Hope to be back there sometime soon.
