One Step Fjord-ward, Then Right Back Hrvatsk-ya

Posted on: 18 August 2010

All of us here at TPBR HQ are positively brimming with excitement, as we prepare to play our first ever live shows in both Norway and Croatia.

The first show is in Norway, where we shall be playing the renowned Bergen venue, The Garage, on Thursday 19th Aug. We will be due onstage around 10.30pm. We are very much looking forward to reuniting with our Norwegian chums who we met a few months ago at one of our London shows, and of course, are as eager as actual beavers to meet as many new chums as possible.

After a much anticipated day trip to Norway’s magnificent and magical Fjords, we shall then make our way, post-haste, to the beautifully preserved medieval coastal city of Dubrovnik in Croatia.

In Dubrovnik, we shall be playing in the gorgeous and historical venue, Lazareti on Saturday 21st, where we shall be due onstage around 11pm. Lazareti is famous not only as a wonderful music venue which has played host to thousands of acts from all over the world, but also for the fact that in ye olden days it was actually a quarantine building. Actually, it is one of the best preserved quarantine buildings in the Mediterranean, constructed at the turn of the 17th century in which, due to precautions against the spreading of the plague and other then incurable infections diseases, all traders and passengers arriving in caravans or ships had to spend a mandatory 40-day quarantine period*. Sadly, we are only playing one night there.

This shall be our first trip back to Croatia as a band since working on the artwork/photo’s for our album, so we can’t wait to hook up with all of our dear chums over there, as well, indeed, as our old chums who are travelling over there from the UK for the show. Abstinence, I suspect, shall be as difficult as a game of pin the tail on the donkey with neither a pin, nor a donkey.

Hopefully we’ll see you there.

Big, big love

* Who knew a person could actually learn something from a TPBR Blog? Makes me think there should be a historical fact in every subsequent posting. (Cue, ‘thinking out-loud’ noises like ‘hmmmm’ and further ponder-sonics.
