TPBR March 2010 Update

Posted on: 2 March 2010

We thought you might be interested in having a cheeky peek at our Show Reel that we have recently put together and let loose on the inter-web. The main concert footage was recorded at shows in The Borderline in London on Nov 27th 2009, The Charlotte Street Blues Bar in London on Dec 12th 2009 and The Melkweg in Amsterdam on Sept 5th 2009, so if you attended any of those shows, there’s a reasonably high chance that you might be able to spot yourself in the film*.

You can have a look at the Show Reel by clicking here.

We would also like to take this opportunity to say an enormous thank you to the following people for making the Show Reel Possible: Jules and the whole team at eyeseesound for filming and expertly putting the show reel together, Alex Rupprecht and Boris Glavocevic for filming and lastly, but by no means leastly, Peter Radcliff for recording and mixing the sound. We owe all of these lovely people a full unabashed kiss on the mouth for all their tireless efforts to try and make us look glamorous and popular**.

On the subject of filming…. On Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of March we shall be filming the video for our next single, ‘You Have Wasted Your Life, Now Please Stop Wasting Your Money’, and we would very much like to invite as many of our dearest chums as possible to come down and be an extra in it. It shall be story-boarded, as opposed to a live concert video and shall be filmed outside during daylight hours*** in a Central London location. We shall send you special bulletin with all the exact details (location, times, props, A-List Hollywood guest stars etc) nearer the time. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the video shoot has been put on hold.

And finally, here are a couple of shows we have coming up in March:

Thurs 18th March – The Gaff, Holloway Road, London. Supporting garage rockers The DeRellas, we’ll be onstage around 8.45pm and entry is £4.

Sat 20th March – The Tunbridge Wells Forum, Tunbridge Wells. Supporting Psychedelic Surf All-Stars and very dear chums of ours, The Flying Padovanis, we’ll be onstage around 8pm and tickets are £7 in adv.

For all TPBR show details (ie tickets, maps etc), please click here.

We very much look forward to seeing you all very soon indeed.

Big, big love and outrageously over-sized mugs of anything which contains lemon, honey and/or ginger, with a disproportionate amount of vitamin supplements which aren’t the size of a small armoured vehicle on the side.

* I suspect the individual who came to all three shows dressed as a furry pink elephant will feel more than a little disappointed that he/she doesn’t appear in it at all. Which, when you think about it, is really quite remarkable, not to mention achingly tragic ****.

** If only I’d had chums like that at school, I might never have had to resort to using my powers of telekinesis to move things around in such a scowling and irritating manner.

*** Do not fret, there shall be make-up people on location whose job it shall be to avoid any of us looking like an even more terrifying version of Bette Davis in Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?.

**** Come to think of it, it’s quite strange that nobody else has mentioned seeing him/her during the whole process of making the Show Reel. It’s almost like he/she was never there *****.

***** Gaaaaaaaaaaah. (says I , as the sound of a lone penny drops in the distance etc).

Penny for your thoughts. Leave us a comment :)
